What is ETGB?

An introduction to Türkiye’s simplified electronic courier export declaration.

What ETGB is used for

ETGB is an electronic customs declaration mechanism used in Türkiye for eligible express or postal shipments. In practice, an authorized courier or postal operator handles the simplified declaration process on behalf of the exporter.

Why companies use it

It can reduce paperwork and make smaller eligible exports faster than a standard customs declaration. It is commonly considered for samples, spare parts and lower-value courier shipments, subject to the legal limits and product restrictions in force.

What it does not eliminate

ETGB does not remove the need for a correct commercial invoice, accurate product description, HS classification, exporter information and compliance with destination-country import requirements. The receiver may still owe customs duties, taxes and handling charges.

When to verify with the courier

Eligibility rules, value and weight limits, restricted products and tax procedures can change. Before promising ETGB to a customer, confirm the shipment details directly with the selected authorized courier and the company’s accountant or customs adviser.
